The Uk Ensembles database consists of hundreds of musicians, and dozens of quartets and ensembles throughout the length and breadth of the UK.
It would be impractical if not impossible to list them all here so instead we have chosen to highlight just a few to give you an idea as to the quality and professional level of musicianship you can expect when booking via UK Ensembles.

Our London based String Quartet

Formed of students from both the Royal Academy of Music and the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, the Quartet performs frequently in and around London in both light entertainment and recitals.

Regarded for their intimate and responsive playing, the quartet is forging a reputation as one of London‘s most versatile and vibrant chamber groups. Ranging from jazz and popular styles, to classical and contemporary, the quartet has performed in a variety of settings and pride themselves on their ability to enhance the ambience of a variety of functions whether they be formal receptions, weddings or as invited concert artists.

The String Quartet specialise in Weddings and Civil Ceremonies and understand how important it is to create the right atmosphere on a special occasion. A carefully chosen programme of music performed at the highest level will always add a certain charm and elegance to your day. They have a broad selection of repertoire which you may wish to choose from. If your favourite piece of music is not on their list they will arrange it for string quartet especially for you.

Our London based quartet can play before and after the ceremony, during the signing, drinks reception, photographs or wedding breakfast. You may have a particular programme in mind; otherwise they are happy to guide you through the deciding process.

London Harpist

Being of the UK's most experienced and versatile harpist's each year our London harpist plays at over 70 weddings as well as at countless corporate functions. Previous clients and their guests include The Savoy Hotel, Sir Elton John, Merill Lynch and Tate Britain.


Her repertoire of over 1000 pieces ranges from the light classical of Vivaldi's Four Seasons Pachelbel Canon in D, Debussy Clair de Lune to Puccini's Nessun Dorma. She also plays music from Broadway and West End shows, Phantom of the Opera, Cats and my Fair Lady. Contemporary pop songs include My Heart Will Go On (Titanic), Endless Love, Unforgettable, Flying Without Wings and Eternal Flame.

The Southern Quartet

Formed in September 2002 the The Southern Quartet is one of Wales’ most exciting and talented young ensembles. Following their success in the inaugural Cavatina Chamber Music Competition at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama in 2003, the quartet was appointed Junior Fellows in chamber music at the college for the 2004/05 academic session. Later that year, the ensemble successfully auditioned for Yeheudi Menuhin’s highly prestigious Live Music Now! Scheme. The quartet is currently undertaking educational and outreach work for both the Cavatina Chamber Music Trust and Live Music Now!

The quartet has performed extensively both in and out of Wales with recital venues including the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, Wales Millennium Centre, The National Museums and Galleries of Wales, and The Reardon Smith Theatre.

The Northern String Quartet

An experienced quartet of classically trained professional musicians who have played together for the last 15 years. Throughout this time they have built up an extensive and eclectic repertoire, which is evolving all the time.
The Northern Quartet have plenty of choices to suit everyone. However if you wish a special piece that is not mentioned in their repertoire they will endeavour to get hold of it and ultimately perform it at your event.


Over the years, the Quartet have worked with artists as diverse as Pavarotti, Bjork, Lisa Stansfield, Bryn Terfyl, Elaine Page, The Syd Lawrence Orchestra, Dave Willetts, Aled Jones, Philip Schofield, Cerys Matthews, Terry Wogan, Bonny Langford, Julia McKenzie, Dennis Quilley, Susan Hampshire, Alvin Stardust, Paul Nicholas, and Clive James.


When not playing as the Northern String Quartet, the musicians perform independently as freelance players for orchestras like The Hallé Orchestra, The Liverpool Philharmonic, The Academy of St Martins-in-the fields, The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Northern Chamber Orchestra, Manchester Camerata, Manchester Concert Orchestra, Welsh Chamber Orchestra and Northern Ballet amongst others. Also for large scale touring productions of musicals such as "Phantom of the Opera", "Les Miserables", "Miss Saigon", "Joseph", "Singin' in the Rain" and many more!
